System Flush
Restore your radiators to full heat output and cut your fuel bills with a professional chemical flush of your central heating system.
Why older systems lose their edge
Over time, central heating systems build up sludge and scale inside the pipework, boiler and radiators. It's a slow process, so it's easy not to notice — until heating bills start creeping up and some rooms just won't get properly warm.
Lifting a radiator off the wall and rinsing it out with water won't shift the problem. Scale bonds to the inside of the waterways and needs a proper chemical treatment — a descaler such as Fernox DS40 — to break it down so it can be power-flushed out of the system completely.
Signs you need a flush
- Cold spots near the bottom or centre of a radiator
- Radiators that need bleeding more often than they should
- Rooms that take longer to heat than they used to
- A boiler that seems to run longer for the same result
What a blocked radiator is costing you
A cold spot means blocked waterways, and blocked waterways mean the radiator can't give off its proper heat output. To compensate, the boiler has to run for longer to heat the same space — burning more fuel for a worse result. A system flush clears that blockage, restores your radiators to their full potential, and lets the boiler work the way it was designed to.
Works alongside the rest of your heating system
A system flush pairs well with a wider service — from a central heating upgrade to heating controls that help you get the most out of a freshly flushed system. See our full range of plumbing services for more.
