Frequently Asked Questions
General questions about working with Sweeney Renewables. Looking for heat pump specifics? See our heat pump FAQ, or our HRV FAQ.
What areas do you cover?
We install directly across Donegal and the wider North West, and cover the rest of the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland through our team and a trained network of local agents. See our Areas We Cover page for details.
Are you insured and registered?
Yes. Our engineers are OFTEC and RGII registered, fully qualified and insured to work on oil and gas-fired heating systems as well as renewable installations.
What is a free savings review?
Tell us about your property, current heating system and typical usage, and we'll give you an honest estimate of what you could save by switching to an Orca heat pump — with no obligation and no hard sell. Request yours here.
How long does a heat pump installation take?
Most domestic installations are completed in a single day, including associated plumbing work, so there's minimal disruption to your home or business.
Can you help with SEAI grants?
Yes — as part of your free savings review we'll talk you through what SEAI grant support you're likely to qualify for. See our guide to SEAI heat pump grants in 2026 for the current figures.
What brands do you supply and install?
We're the official Irish agents for Orca air-to-water heat pumps and Orca pellet stoves, and we supply Aklimat aluminium radiators. All are European-manufactured.
What warranty do I get?
Orca heat pumps come with a 12-year guarantee and 2-year parts warranty. Aklimat aluminium radiators carry a 15-year warranty. We'll confirm exact terms for your specific system before you order.
Do you work on commercial premises as well as homes?
Yes — alongside domestic homes, we install and service systems for hotels, B&Bs, bars and restaurants, cafés, salons, farms, nursing homes and schools. See our sectors we serve.
What if something goes wrong after installation?
Get in touch directly — as our customers will tell you, we answer the phone and deal with queries promptly. Your system is also covered by its manufacturer guarantee and parts warranty for extra peace of mind.
I'm a plumber — can I become a local agent?
Yes, we're always happy to hear from qualified plumbers interested in becoming a local Orca agent. Full training, technical backup and commission are provided — see Become an Agent.
