Efficiency percentages are one thing — what people actually want to know is the number on the bill. Here's a real worked example, and how it stacks up against oil, gas and electric immersion.
"Up to 70% lower bills" is a figure worth being able to see worked out in real numbers rather than just taking on faith. Below is a genuine example from a business installation, along with what a typical home tends to save, and an honest comparison against the alternatives.

How does this compare to oil, gas and electric immersion?
Efficiency is really the whole story here. A heat pump moves existing heat rather than creating it from fuel, so the running-cost comparison isn't close once you look at how each system actually spends the energy it uses.
- Electric immersion is typically the most expensive way to heat water, because you're paying full-price electricity for direct resistive heating with no multiplying effect — roughly one unit of heat for every unit of electricity, versus 3–4 units from a heat pump.
- Oil pricing is exposed to global oil markets and can swing sharply, on top of the cost of tank deliveries and annual boiler servicing. Combustion losses also mean you never get 100% of the fuel's energy back out as usable heat.
- Gas is usually cheaper to run than oil or immersion, but it's still a fossil fuel with a price that moves with wholesale markets — and mains gas simply isn't available to a lot of rural Donegal and Irish properties in the first place.
- Heat pump running costs stay structurally lower than any of the above, because one unit of electricity in delivers 3–4 units of heat out, rather than being burned or converted roughly one-for-one.
