Home of the Sovereign Complex & guardians of Carnmoney Hill — enriching life for residents of Rathfern and the surrounding community through activities for every age.
Established in 2013, Rathfern Community Regeneration Group exists to enrich and enhance the quality of life for residents of the Rathfern estate and surrounding areas. We manage the newly refurbished Rathfern Social Activity Centre — now known as the Sovereign Complex — and lead the ongoing masterplan for the wider neighbourhood.
Our programmes promote education, training, health and wellbeing, sport, community cohesion, reconciliation and diversity, with dedicated facilities for the elderly, families, people with disabilities and children of all ages.
Something for every generation — from toddlers to senior residents — running throughout the week.
A warm, welcoming start for the youngest residents of Rathfern, running every weekday.
Attracting over 120 children and young people for sport, games and social activities.
Weekly dance classes for children and adults in a friendly, supportive environment.
Regular Slimming World sessions supporting local residents' health and wellbeing goals.
Structured martial arts classes building discipline, fitness and confidence.
Relaxing, low-impact yoga sessions open to all ability levels.
Home to the Cloughfern Band, rehearsing and performing from the complex.
A friendly weekly bible club for children in the local community.
Education and employment-focused workshops supporting local skills development.
Alongside running the Sovereign Complex, we lead the environmental protection of Carnmoney Hill — partnering with the Woodland Trust and Belfast Hills Partnership to preserve nearly 400 acres of land for recreation, wildlife and future generations.
Whether you'd like to join a club, volunteer, or support our work on Carnmoney Hill, we'd love to hear from you.
