Our Heritage

Over a Century of Hockey

Parkview Hockey Club traces its roots back to 1898, when it was founded as Fisherwick Hockey Club by workers from the local spinning mills and surrounding farms. The club took on its current name, Parkview, in 1924, and has been a cornerstone of community sport in Ballyclare and Doagh, County Antrim, ever since.

Our most successful era ran from the Second World War through to the mid-1970s, headlined by our Irish Junior Cup win in the 1936-37 season. In 1970, members built our own clubhouse by hand — extended with bar renovations in 1974 — and it remains the heart of the club today.

More recently, the club showed real character: after dropping to Junior 5 in 2021-22 to rebuild, we went unbeaten in 2022-23 to earn promotion, and were promoted again into Junior 3 for the 2024-25 season. The story continues to be written — on and off the pitch.
