The Old Forge at Logue's: a lit fire in the original stone hearth, an anvil in the foreground, and horseshoes, tongs and blacksmith's tools hung on the stone walls beside small round tables.

The room out the back

You can still have a pint in the old forge

The forge was Tom Logue's blacksmith workshop, and we never took it apart. The hearth still draws, the anvil is still where he left it, and the tongs and horseshoes are still on the wall. These days there are a few tables in beside the fire.

It's the warmest seat in the house on a wet Donegal evening — and it's where the Blacksmith Burger got its name.

There's a coffee bar too, so nobody needs to rush off after eating. Have your coffee brought through to the forge, take the seat nearest the fire, and sit on a while.

Every Sunday

Lunch from one, dancing from nine

Sunday is the long day at Logue's. The kitchen runs straight through from one o'clock until eight, and then the floor is cleared for social dancing from nine until eleven. Everyone is welcome — regulars, visitors, and anyone who fancies a turn.

Big band nights, Tuesdays

Through July and August the big bands play on a Tuesday night. The bar is open — there's no food served on a Tuesday, just the music.

Logue's function room laid out for a 50th birthday: two long tables dressed in white linen with pink runners and candles, gold balloons, chandeliers, and an exposed stone wall hung with horse tack.
