A Derry Family · Four Generations
From Mamie Doherty's kitchen on Rosseville Street to four shops across the city — over eighty years of traditional Irish baking, made fresh before sunrise.
"Like stepping into your granny's kitchen — warm, welcoming, and the food is wonderful." — Tripadvisor
Ranked #1 Dessert Spot in DerryOur Story
In the 1940s, Mamie Doherty (née Rutherford) began baking bread from her home on Rosseville Street. Neighbours queued at the door. Word travelled. One kitchen became a counter, and a counter became a Derry institution.
Today, four brothers and a sister run the bakery — with Mum and Dad never far from the till. The recipes haven't changed. Neither has the welcome.
" We don't bake to be the biggest. We bake to be the best loaf in your bag on a Saturday morning. — The Doherty family

What Derry says
Amazing food and wonderful, welcoming staff. The breakfast bap is the best in the city.
Delicious homemade food we needed. Felt like a warm hug after a long morning walking the walls.
I've been buying bread here for thirty years. Still the same warm welcome, still the same beautiful loaf.
