Currin, Sons of St. Patrick GFC was affiliated to the GAA in 1886, making Currin the oldest affiliated club in County Monaghan. Based in Scotshouse and drawing on the Currin and Connons area, the club has stood at the heart of the parish for over a century.
2026 marks our 140th anniversary — a milestone we're celebrating with the community that has carried this club through every generation. Our motto, "Dílis go Deo" — Faithful Forever — reflects the loyalty of players, mentors and supporters who have worn the navy and gold.
The club is currently investing in its future, with planning secured for a new gym and clubhouse redevelopment, funded by our members and one of the biggest fundraising drives in the club's history.
Planning permission has been secured for a new gym and an extended, renovated clubhouse in Scotshouse — with new changing rooms, showers and a first-floor meeting space for the club.
Members are backing the club's largest ever fundraising drive to fund a new pitch, gym and walking track — building facilities that will serve Currin for the next 140 years.
This year we mark 140 years since Currin's affiliation to the GAA — the oldest club in County Monaghan. Watch for anniversary events throughout the year.
Currin fields teams across football grades in Monaghan GAA, welcoming players from juveniles right through to adult football.
