Bawn Handball Club is a community club based in Shantonagh, Co. Monaghan, affiliated to GAA Handball through the Monaghan County Board and Ulster Council. Handball here means the game in its purest form — hard ball, hard wall, and whoever keeps it in play longest.

Like every alley club, Bawn runs on volunteers: people who mark the lines, mind the key, and talk a nervous newcomer through their first serve. If you grew up near a wall with a ball in your hand, you already understand the appeal.
