Waldron Park is the historic pitch of Athleague Hurling Club, a 19-time Roscommon Senior Hurling Champion and the traditional home ground of the Roscommon county hurling team.
Founded in 1901, Athleague Hurling Club has called Waldron Park home for generations. Playing in blue and white, the club has built one of the proudest records in Roscommon GAA, claiming the county's Senior Hurling Championship on 19 occasions and reaching the Connacht Senior Club final three times. Waldron Park remains a cornerstone of the community in Cloonykelly, Athleague, and is regularly used as the home venue of the Roscommon county hurling team.
Since 1979, the club's camogie section has thrived alongside the hurlers, reaching the All-Ireland Junior Club Camogie Championship final in 2015. Today, Waldron Park continues to host club, county, and community events for players and supporters across Roscommon.
Athleague have lifted the county's top hurling honour a record-standing 19 times, including the following championship-winning years:
